The Museu Nacional restores two stained glass windows by Antoni Gaudí, incorporated in the collection of modern art

Two stained glass windows by Antoni Gaudí for the private chapel of Can Pujades, in Vallgorguina (Vallès Oriental), have incorporated at the Museu Nacional like a loan of 8 years agreed with the property of the works.

Two stained glass windows were executed by the workshop Amigó. The largest, in the form of rosace and 90 cm in diameter, is dated between 1900 and 1902. It represents a hand with an eye and was placed in the oculus of the facade of the chapel. It is formed by 4 large muff glass colourless pieces, decorated with yellow stain and drawings in grisaille and sanguine, and 12 small pieces of different colours.

The second window of to 1894, representing the Saint Michael the Archangel. It is smaller, 75 x 24.5 cm, and was placed in a side window of the chapel.

The two stained-glass windows have been restored and it will showed in the rooms of the collection of modern art, in art nouveau and Antoni Gaudí space.
